Wednesday 1st March 2023, London – Climate X, the fast-growth climate risk analytics provider, today announces the appointment of Francesca Gutierrez as Vice President of Sales.
Francesca joins from AWS, Amazon’s cloud platform, where she worked in Strategic Global Partnerships, managing the relationship with the world’s leading supported open-source software provider, Red Hat. She brings over 15 years’ of experience to Climate X’s commercial team and will be an integral part in continuing the company’s rapid growth on an international scale.
Climate X has created a digital “twin” of the Earth, which lets them project how extreme weather events - including flood, extreme heat, storms, or landslides - can damage properties, infrastructure or assets under different emissions scenarios. This helps banks and commercial property firms prepare for such events and pivot their long-term business strategy.
Francesca has an impressive portfolio under her belt: prior to AWS, she held global sales and alliances leadership positions at Anaconda, VMware and major communications providers, fuelling their growth and leading relationships with Nvidia, Intel, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Cisco Systems, Visa, and The GAP Group. Francesca’s experience shows her ability to scale teams across multiple markets and build solid and successful customer relationships.
She joins a team boasting experience at HSBC, the Met Office, Coca-Cola and Monzo - an impressive roster of talent for a company established in late 2020.
Specialising in international sales management, Francesca brings invaluable experience to the business as it continues to scale rapidly, setting its sights on global expansion this year.
CEO and co-founder at Climate X Lukky Ahmed said: “At Climate X we’re at the next stage of our journey where we’re scaling quickly. We want the best people onboard to help us drive our ambition to build a more climate-resilient world. Francesca’s expertise in large enterprise and multinational sales will be pivotal in continuing this pace of growth. We’re delighted to have her onboard - she understands the intricacies between customers’ needs and how our mission can meet them.”
Francesca Gutierrez said: “I’m very lucky to be joining a team of such talented individuals at Climate X. I have seen first-hand how hurricanes, floods, and wildfires have hurt my family, friends, and neighbours; I want to do something about that, and at Climate X I can. Climate X delivers the world’s most comprehensive view and accurate forecasts of climate perils - it has already achieved incredible milestones with this pioneering technology, and I know this is only the start of what we’re going to achieve.”
